An interesting and innovative approach to a solar heater/heat exchanger, using aluminum cans and a lot of scrap. For all the hours it would take to put this together, though, you might as well build a much larger one, or maybe it would be more efficient to have several that size, each with its own intake. Hehe, looks like several mechanical engineers are also weighing in in the comments.

An article about a rather innovative approach to the older tech of solar concentrators, using thin-film balloons to concentrate light inside. I checked out the Cool Earth site itself for more technical information... any design that uses tensegrity to minimize the material impact of building it wins in my book.

Although I'm dubious too, I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon with the cries of fraud until I see something definitive one way or the other. Contrary to what some are saying in the reviews, an electric field can affect hydrocarbons in a number of ways (one such example I found in an Air Force Lab abstract, different application). My guess, though, is that if anything significant could be achieved by something as simple as applying an electric field, it would have been figured out a long time ago.
